Neuropathy Treatment in Hillsboro
Burning feet. Numb toes. Pins and needles that never quite leave, or electric jolts that wake you at night. If you're living with neuropathy, chances are the usual answers haven't been enough.
Peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and chronic nerve pain
Neuropathy in the feet and hands is where most people feel it first. Many arrive here after years of medications that quiet the pain for a few hours while the numbness slowly spreads. Some have been told to learn to live with it. Nerves can heal. They heal slowly, and only when the terrain around them supports it: circulation, metabolic balance, sleep, and the body's own repair capacity. That terrain is exactly what classical East Asian medicine is built to read and rebuild.
How we work with nerve pain
Your first visit runs two and a half to three hours: a full history, classical pulse diagnosis, and your first treatment. Follow-ups run two hours or more, never rushed, with built-in rest. Between visits, Dr. Carter spends one to two hours on your case alone, cross-referencing findings and refining your individualized plan. Care may combine multi-lineage acupuncture, custom herbal formulas, moxibustion, and nutritional guidance, matched to your constitution. For neuropathy, treatment focuses on restoring circulation and nourishment to the nerves themselves while we address the deeper picture that produced the damage. Lasting change almost always comes from a proper course of care rather than isolated visits.
A documented outcome
One patient came to us with diabetic neuropathy, chronic pain, and an A1c of 8.8. Twelve months later: A1c of 5.6, blood pressure medication discontinued by their physician, 35 pounds lost, and neuropathy roughly 90% improved. Their full story, and others like it, are on our Patient Stories page. Every case is individual. This is what a full course of care can look like.
A different kind of clinic
We are a private pay clinic. Longer visits, deeper work, real results. Care plans, visit frequency, and fees are reviewed together in person before any course of care begins. We accept a limited number of new patients, with priority given to complex and longstanding conditions. Neuropathy is one of our core focus areas.
