I'm Dr. James Carter, and I came to this medicine as a patient. At 18 a car accident left me with significant pain that two years of conventional care couldn't solve. When I found acupuncture and East Asian medicine, I was treated as a whole person, body, mind and spirit, and finally healed. I fell in love with this medicine and decided to study it.
I founded Luna out of a passion to give others what this medicine gave me: whole person care that addresses the root cause, because I deeply believe the ability to heal lives in every one of us. I've had the honor of training under some of the world's most respected scholars and clinicians in this field, and I bring everything I've learned to every patient who walks through the door. Helping people become healthier and happier with this remarkable medicine is my life's work. Eleven years and more than 50,000 treatments later, most of my work is with chronic pain and complex conditions that haven't responded to other care.
